Why create priceTrackr?
priceTrackr was created so that one can make a more informed decision before purchasing items on newegg.
Are you affiliated with newegg?
At this time priceTrackr is not affiliated with newegg. To show your support please say "referred by priceTrackr" in the comments sections of your purchase.
How should the graphs be interpreted?
Each graph has three sections. The first section is the price + shipping which is the price one would pay in the absence of savings or rebates.
The second section is + savings which includes the instant savings from the company. This essentially is what you must pay to get the item.
The final section is + rebate which adds in the rebate to the savings price. This, in a sense, is the overall cost of the item once the rebate check is received.
Why show the original price and the savings price?
The original price is shown so that one may see how much is being saved on an item and to show how the company adjusts its base price for the item.
The savings price is shown because we know that some people hate rebates and therefore these people can ignore the rebate price when making their decision.
What is up with the color scheme?
priceTrackr does not have a decent graphic designer and therefore relies on artistically challenged programmers to make the decision.
The colors were found by using a color wheel applet with a base color. Please contact us with color scheme suggestions.
How can I advertise on priceTrackr?
Please see our marketing section on the contact page for marketing inquiries.
How can I report a bug on priceTrackr?

I can't view the data (graphs) because for some reason Macromedia doesn't have great support for GNU/Linux.
At priceTrackr we completely understand this dilemma as we too run GNU/Linux and those of us that have 64 bit machines cannot view the graphs in our native browser. Fortunately it is possible to run 32 bit browsers on 64 bit machines which allows for running the appropriate flash version.
We sincerely hope that Macromedia (Abobe) will take the steps necessary to allow for 64 bit GNU/Linux users to use their 64 bit browsers.
